es_pats: we had a talk some days ago - do english speaking folks say anything before eating that would mean something like "bon appetit" that would sound more 'english' than that phrase?
spiroswirlie: we actually say "bon appetit" a lot, but not with the french pronunciation!!!!!!!. also, "hearty appetite", "enjoy your meal", or even grace: "lord, we thank you for the bounty which we are about to receive", followed by "let's dig in" lol
